Tony Hawk Adds Fontaines D.C. And Idles To ‘Pro Skater 3+4’ Soundtrack, “A Couple Of Bands I Was Stoked On”

In a new interview with the BBC, Tony Hawk responds to fan criticism over cuts made to the soundtrack for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. The professional skateboarding legend defended the decision to only include 10 original songs from the previous games, which prompted an outcry due to the omission of fan-favorite tracks like Alien Ant Farm‘s “Wish.” “These days, just what I think fits and what I’m interested in [makes the soundtrack],” Hawk said, while sharing that he wasn’t “the only decider” in compiling the final tracklist. Hawk also revealed that he successfully lobbied for the inclusion of artists he’s currently excited about, adding “I did manage to throw a couple of bands in that I was stoked on – Fontaines D.C., Idles.” Hawk hopes that fans of the game will find new favorite songs and artists: “I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun, and a big reason these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride.” (Billboard)
