Ace Frehley’s life and legendary music career was celebrated at a private funeral in the Bronx on Wednesday (October 22), which was attended by all of the co-founders of Kiss – Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss – alongside the late guitarist’s family and close friends. Radio host Eddie Trunk, a close friend of Frehley’s, shared his thoughts about the funeral in an emotional Instagram post which included a photo of the service’s program alongside the caption: “Ace Frehley has now been laid to rest in Bronx NY. It has been an emotional couple of days to say the least saying farewell to a rock icon and long time friend. It was an honor to be invited to attend and participate.” Trunk went on to confirm he is planning a future tribute show with the family’s blessing, saying a public event honoring Frehley would be “important for Ace’s legacy, his fans, and the countless guitar players he influenced.” Frehley died at the age of 74 on October 16, due to complications from a recent fall.
