On Wednesday (September 17), Slash announced the upcoming release of a live album and concert film capturing his 2024 blues-focused tour, titled Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, with both projects arriving on November 7 via earMUSIC. Recorded at Denver’s Mission Ballroom on July 17, the show features performances of classics by blues legends like Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Johnson, and T-Bone Walker, as well as a new original track, “Metal Chestnut.” To promote the release, Slash shared a live performance video of the Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) original “Oh Well.” Slash is accompanied by his band Blue Balls – featuring Teddy “ZigZag” Andreadis (keyboards, harmonica, vocals), Tash Neal (rhythm guitar, vocals), Johnny Griparic (bass, backing vocals), and Michael Jerome (drums) – with live performances interspersed with interview segments with the Guns N’ Roses guitarist where he reflects on his passion for the blues. The release will be available as a 2-CD/DVD, 2-CD/Blu-Ray, and 3-LP vinyl set, with pre-orders open on Slash’s website. (Consequence of Sound)
