Bruce Springsteen issues a statement about E. Street Band member Clarence Clemmons who suffered a stroke Sunday.

"While all initial signs are encouraging, Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again." Bruce goes on to say that Clarence's wife VICTORIA is by his side and that he's under the care of the best doctors." If you want to send Clarence a get-well message, write to notestoclarence@clarenceclemons.com.

A copy of the "Double Fantasy" LP signed by JOHN LENNON just hours before his death was sold at an auction in London for nearly 39,000-dollars. Christie's said the expected price was 7,000-dollars. Another big item sold at the auction was a gold Gibson Les Paul guitar that PETE TOWNSHEND played during THE WHO's "Quadrophenia" tour. It sold for nearly 52,000-dollars.

Peter Frampton starts his tour in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Frampton Comes Alive tonight in Red Bank, New Jersey. He'll play the album in its entirety and to prepare, he listened to it for the first time in many years.

"We have not done since 1976 the entire thing all the way through," says Frampton, who adds that listening to it again got him "in the spirit of it."
The North American leg runs through October 22nd in Nashville where he will do a benefit for victims of last year's flood there. He will then head to Europe in November followed by South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.  Frampton brings the tour to the PNC Pavilion at Riverbend on Aug. 28th.
